Cannes 2023: boAt’s Founder Aman Gupta Becomes First Indian Entrepreneur to Walk on the Red Carpet
This year, not just Bollywood film stars but also Indian cricketers and businessmen have been part of the Cannes Film Festival.
This year, the Cannes Film Festival has been slightly different for Indians. After all, unlike other years when the festival was only full of desi stars, 2023 witnessed the presence of cricketers and businessmen at the festival.
The latest person to walk the prestigious red carpet is Aman Gupta, boAT’s founder and an investor on the reality show Shark Tank. Gupta also became the first Indian entrepreneur to walk the red carpet. His wife, Priya Dagar, also accompanied him to the festival.

Sharing his euphoria, the founder wrote, "Proud to be the first Entrepreneur from India to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. ?? Sometimes you dream and they come true. Sometimes you don’t even know what God has in store for you. I didn’t dream about this one. But now that I'm living it the feeling is surreal. Thank you God. Thank you Life. ? Had always seen Aishwarya Rai or other celebs here at the Red Carpet. But never knew I would get this opportunity too. If I CAN , so CAN you. ☺️ Also thanking @brut.india for making me live this."
The husband and wife complimented each other’s attire. While Priya was spotted in a white gown, Gupta donned all-black traditional attire.
Reactions
Reacting to Aman and Priya’s posts, another Shark Tank investor, Anupam Mittal, hailed Gupta for representing Indian entrepreneurs at the festival. Mittal wrote, "Nice guys … representing," whereas another fellow shark, Namita Thapar, added, "So proud of you, both of you are looking abs amazing!"
