Indian Celebrities Who Have Embraced Electric Vehicles

Electric cycle maker EMotorad grabbed attention by turning a meme into an advertisement

Recently, electric motorcycle maker EMotorad turned a viral meme related to Mahendra Singh Dhoni into an advertisement campaign. The campaign has garnered praise from all quarters; after all, who would have thought Dhoni would be seen singing 'Bole jokoyal' while riding a bicycle, right? The advertisement has caught the eyes of not only cricket enthusiasts but also those interested in electric vehicles. Not to forget, this is not the first time Dhoni has been featured in an advertisement for a vehicle company.

Known for his love for motorcycles, Dhoni has worked on multiple ads for companies such as TVS and various engine oil brands, and now he has forayed into the electric mobility world. Therefore, in the following paragraphs, let us focus on some Indian celebrities who have embraced electric vehicles (not only cycles) despite the stereotypes surrounding electric vehicles.

Ranbir Kapoor

Animal star Ranbir Kapoor is often caught riding his Mate X electric cycle, which is worth INR 1.46 lakh. The foldable electric cycle has a top speed of 25 kilometres per hour and is powered by a 50-watt electric motor with a riding range of 80 kilometres in a single charged session. The Mate X takes around four hours to get fully charged.

The "Bhai" of Bollywood has his own brand of electric cycle – Being Human, which started as a clothing brand but forayed into the electric cycle industry. Khan is often spotted riding the electric cycles of his company. As of now, Being Human has a portfolio of two electric cycles. The first one is BH12, which is priced at INR 38,000, whereas the second one is BH27, priced at INR 57,000.

Dulquer Salman

Moving onto electric motorcycles from bicycles, several celebrities own the Ultraviolette F77, India's first electric sports motorcycle. The proud owners of the motorcycle are Dulquer Salman, Rohit Roy, and Roadies' famer Rannvijay Singha, who is known for being a motorcycle enthusiast. For the record, Ultraviolette is also funded by Dulquer Salman.

MukeshAmbani

India's richest person, MukeshAmbani, has a fleet of over 200 cars, and therefore, it is no surprise that Ambani also owns a few electric cars. As of now, Ambani has two Teslas: the S 100 D, and the X 100 D. The S 100 D is worth INR 75 lakh, whereas the X 100 D is worth INR 2 crore. Both cars have a top speed of INR 250 kilometres per hour.

Dhoni
