India not only won the World Cup but also, in the course, shattered multiple trophies
Gautam Gambhir’s Men in Blue shut all the critics up as they thrashed New Zealand in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The Indian side not only won the trophy but also shattered several records as a unit, while the same players set individual records.

Records as a team
The Men in Blue became the first team ever to retain the T20 World Cup by winning it back-to-back. Further, India also became the first team to win three ICC T20 World Cups, beating England and the West Indies in the process.

Overall, India had a terrific outing, which included several hiccups and experiments, but at the end of the day, the Men in Blue supported each other and, by doing so, reached the trophy despite all the criticism. Last but not least, one must not forget to appreciate Gautam Gambhir, who has been at the receiving end since he took over the team.
