Sergio Ramos joins Lionel Messi in leaving PSG after two seasons

PSG will lift the league trophy for the ninth time in 10 years following the full-time whistle, with the 37-year-old set to serenade the home faithful for the very last time.

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Sergio Ramos will leave the club after Saturday's game against Clermont Foot - an experience the Spaniard has described as "unforgettable"

Sergio Ramos will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his contract on June 30.

Sergio Ramos in PSG:

The Spaniard joined PSG from Real Madrid in 2021 but struggled for game time under Mauricio Pochettino in his first season, making just 13 appearances in all competitions. However, Christophe Galtier chose to re-introduce Ramos into the starting XI at the start of this term alongside Marquinhos, and it is a partnership that has worked.

After over 50 matches and five goals, Ramos will leave PSG after their final Ligue 1 game of the season against Clermont Foot on Saturday.

Words from Ramos:

Speaking after his departure was confirmed, Ramos told the club's website: "Wearing the Red and Blue shirt for the last two years has been a wonderful experience. I've had an unforgettable adventure in Paris and I'd like to thank you all for your support and love. Allez Paris!"

Words from Nasser Al-Khelaifi:

Nasser Al-Khelaifi added: "We would like to express our immense gratitude to Sergio Ramos for the two years he has spent with us. Sergio's leadership, team spirit and professionalism, combined with his experience at the highest level, make him a true football legend, and it was an honour to have him in Paris. Everyone at the club wishes him all the best."

About the career graph of Ramos:

Ramos came through the ranks at Sevilla but made a name for himself when he made the switch to Real Madrid. He cemented his place in the Los Blancos XI and became a club legend. Ramos totalled over 100 goals in 671 appearances for the club, winning every major honour possible.

But Ramos' time at Real came to an end in 2021, where he signed a two-year contract at PSG. Ramos has more than 800 appearances to his name during his career and has been linked with a move back to Spain, while Saudi Arabian clubs are reportedly keen to take him to the Middle-East.

About other most talked departure from PSG:

He won't be the only big-name player to depart PSG this summer, however. Lionel Messi is set to leave the club after Galtier confirmed the news in his press conference on Thursday. He said: "I had a privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football. It will be Leo’s last match at the Parc des Princes against Clermont."
