Akshay Kumar is returning to the silver screen with Khel Khel Mein, and going by the trailer, the film seems interesting. On the other hand, Rajkummar Rao will be back with Stree 2, a sequel to his hit film Stree, and who doesn’t want to see him as the quirky and lovable Bicky. Last but not least, there’s John Abraham. The actor, who was loved for his high-octane performance in Pathaan, will make a comeback on the screen with Vedaa, and the intense drama promises some thrilling action sequences.

To say the least, such Bollywood clashes can prove to be both a boon or a bane for the films, but they certainly add to their better promotion. So, as we await the box office clash of Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa, let’s trace the biggest Bollywood clashes of all time.

'Animal' vs 'Sam Bahadur'

It was in 2023 that Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 'Animal' released in theatres on December 1. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna, the film proved to be a humongous hit. At the box office, it clashed with Vicky Kaushal’s 'Sam Bahadur' based on the life of India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. The latter fared decently at the box office, but was well praised by the audience.

'Om Shanti Om' vs 'Sawaariya'

Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor’s debut film 'Sawaariya' and Deepika Padukone’s debut film 'Om Shanti Om' was one of the biggest Bollywood clashes of Bollywood. While 'Om Shanti Om' was headlined by Shah Rukh Khan, both films had Salman Khan’s cameo. 'Om Shanti Om' performed much better than 'Sawaariya', which was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and was based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's 1848 short story White Nights.

'Dilwale' vs 'Bajirao Mastani'

In 2015, 'Dilwale' brought back the much-loved screen couple of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, but the film clashed with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Bajirao Mastani'. Both films performed well. While 'Dilwale' did well internationally, the Indian audience loved the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer more.

'Lagaan' vs 'Gadar'

'Lagaan', which was the third film to be nominated for the Oscars (Best Foreign Language Film), clashed at the box office with 'Gadar', which emerged to be a blockbuster hit and broke the box office records of 'Sholay'. 'Lagaan' was headlined by Aamir Khan while 'Gadar' starred Sunny Deol in the lead. Both films were released on June 15, 2001.

'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' vs 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'

Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda’s comedy film 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' clashed with Karan Johar’s directorial debut 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. However, it was the Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji starrer that clearly led the box office numbers.
