Alia Bhatt is going to host a charity gala in London today.

The actor, producer and entrepreneur is going to host her first charitable event named ‘Hope Gala’ in London. As per sources Alia will be hosting the event in partnership with the Mandarin Oriental hotel group at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, in London.

The actor’s selected charity Salaam Bombay Foundation is focused on “engaging Mumbai's most vulnerable at-risk children through in-school programmes (leadership and advocacy) and after-school academies (skill building) that help build their confidence, self-esteem and commit them to stay in school,” as per the official website.
Further, it was noted: “Salaam Bombay Foundation intervenes on all the triggers which cause at-risk, neglected pre-teen / adolescent children to drop out of secondary school, so they’re not denied the chance to have a bright future.”
Reportedly, this event will be attended by renowned industrialists as well as several philanthropists from India and London.
One media agency reported that famous Indian singer Harshdeep Kaur (singer of ‘Dilbaro’ from Alia Bhatt’s ‘Raazi’) and comedian Rohan Joshi will performing in the Hope Gala. Along with that, Paris-based Tamil dancer and choreographer Usha Jey will also be performing at the event. A source close to Alia Bhatt’s team mentioned: “The idea is to have a mix of entertainment and social work for everyone present.”
Apart from being associated with Salaam Bombay Foundation, the actor has been doing works for the society for quite a long time.
Cuddles Foundation: The Cuddles Foundation provides nutritional support to children suffering from cancer. The foundation is operational in more than 30 government and charity hospitals across 20 Indian cities. Alia Bhatt joined a charity fundraiser in 2015. The actor also performed a ramp walk in 2017 to support the mission. Alia Bhatt’s involvement with the Cuddles foundation has helped in both raising funds and increasing awareness.
Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe (MIWISW): This is a unique initiative by the actor where she puts her personal wardrobe in auctions to raise funds for multiple charitable purposes. Apart from fundraising, this promotes sustainable fashion and the recycling of garments. The money generated through auction is contributed in education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment.
CoExist: This an ecological initiative by the actor to promote harmony between environment, humans, and animals. This foundation works for animal welfare, adopting stray animals, and runs promotional drives. Alia Bhatt’s passion for wildlife has recently been seen on screen. She produced a webseries named ‘Poacher’ which deals about animal poaching. The webseries is directed by Richie Mehta and is available on Prime video. Starring Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya the webseries, talks about the importance of wildlife conservation.
