Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is a Cannes regular, too arrived on the red carpet and took everyone by surprise with her black and white look. Coming to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, she yet again stole the spotlight at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival with her stunning second look. She wore an extravagant fringe gown and the blue and silver outfit was designed by Falguni and Shane Peacock. She was seen attending the screening of Kinds of Kindness. The gown featured a fishtail hemline and eye-catching embellishments with turquoise accents. The actress completed her look with a silver bracelet, diamond drop earrings, a ring, and a pair of high heels. On the first day, the actress wore a dramatic black-and-white gown, also a custom Falguni Shane Peacock couture creation.

Megapolis receives a 10-minute ovation

Francis Ford Coppola, who is one of the renowned filmmakers and is known for movies like The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, made his much-awaited comeback at the Cannes Film Festival with his new sci-fi film, Megalopolis.

At the premiere, the film received a massive standing ovation lasting 10 minutes at the Grand Lumiere Theatre. And why not? It marked Coppola's successful return to the festival after 45 years. Megalopolis, set in a futuristic city, revolves around an architect named Caesar, played by Adam Driver, who wants to rebuild New York City as a utopia, following a disaster. The film also stars Nathalie Emmanuel, Giancarlo Esposito, Shia LaBeouf, Aubrey Plaza, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Shire, and Jason Schwartzman.

Bharat Parv celebrated at Cannes 2024

The 77th Cannes Film Festival kicked off on May 14, and the ten-day event is a celebration of cinema and glamour. On day 4, Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, hosted the inaugural Bharat Parva at Cannes 2024. With Bharat Parv, the festival honours India's culture, cuisine, handicrafts, and cinema at the French Riviera.

The Monkey Man actress was seen at the prestigious event in a shimmering purple jumpsuit by designer Namrata Joshipura. So did Madame Cama Punjabi singer Sunanda Sharma. The singer also performed at Bharat Parv during the ongoing 77th Cannes Film Festival.
