The IPL 2025 season witnessed nine batters hitting a century

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was a season in which batters clearly had the edge over bowlers. After all, the season witnessed over 50 scores of 200-plus, including a high of 286 runs by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). High team scores meant several individual players registered big runs. However, a few capable players reached the century mark.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Probably the biggest shocker of the century was the one hit by 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi playing for Rajasthan Royals. He took on the likes of Ishant Sharma, Rashid Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and so on and brought the entire bowling department of the Gujarat Titans to its knees by scoring 101 runs.

Abhishek Sharma

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Abhishek Sharma scored 141 runs in 55 balls against Punjab Kings. His explosive innings included 14 fours and 10 sixes, which helped Hyderabad chase the target of 246 runs. Sharma’s 141 became the highest run scored by an Indian in the tournament’s history, surpassing the previous record of 132 scored by KL Rahul.

Ishan Kishan

Another Sunrisers Hyderabad batter, Ishan Kishan, scored 106 runs off 47 balls against the Rajasthan Royals. The century marked his maiden IPL century, which helped Hyderabad post a massive target of 286 runs. For Kishan, the innings became extra memorable given it was his debut match for the Orange Army.

Priyansh Arya

A rising star in the IPL, Priyansh Arya, hit the fastest century by an uncapped player in the tourney this season with a 39-ball century against Chennai Super Kings. Playing for the Punjab Kings, he made 103 runs in 42 deliveries.

KL Rahul

Often hailed as a classic old-school technical Test player, KL Rahul showed he can hit quick runs when required, scoring a century against the Gujarat Titans while playing for the Delhi Capitals. He scored 112 runs in 65 balls, which included 14 fours and four sixes. Rahul also became the first batter with centuries for three IPL teams.

Sai Sudharsan

In a match against the Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudharsan scored his second century of the IPL. The player scored 108 runs, with his century coming in 56 balls on a Kuldeep Yadav delivery that went down the ground.

Rishabh Pant

The seventh player on the list is Lucknow Super Giants’ Rishabh Pant. The flamboyant batter-cum-wicketkeeper had a terrible season after he made a comeback from his car accident. However, he ended the season on a high note with a century against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. For the fans, the cherry on top was his backflip celebration, which he pulled off after hitting the century.
