What would you prefer more- tea or coffee? If coffee is your choice, then this is what you have been looking for in a coffee guide. We often find it tough to order the right cup of coffee to start our day. There are tons of coffee drinks to choose from, but due to lack of knowledge about its taste, we end up repeating our order. But now you don’t have to worry. Here is the simple coffee dictionary for you. Black Coffee- Preparation: Grounded coffee beans added to hot water. It is usually served warm without added sugar, flavours or milk. Espresso- Preparation: Finely grounded coffee beans are brewed in water (ratio must be higher than regular coffee) to prepare a shot of espresso. Espresso is a thick and concentrated liquid with a strong flavour. Americano- Preparation: A shot of espresso (1/3rd part) served diluted in hot water (2/3rd part). It is usually a popular breakfast drink served in many countries and drank without added sugar. Latte- Preparation: A shot of espresso (1/3rd part) served with added steamed milk (2/3rd part) and flavour shot (if required). Baristas at cafés often customize the foam into latte art. Cappuccino- Preparation: A shot of espresso with added steamed milk and foamed milk. It is a latte with more foam and sprinkled cocoa powder or cinnamon to top it. In other words, cappuccino is a creamy version of a latte. Mocha- Preparation: It requires a shot of cappuccino, chocolate syrup (or powder), steamed milk, sugar and whipped cream. Mocha is more like a mixed variety chocolate coffee drink served in an Irish coffee mug. Ristretto- Preparation: Its brewing technique is the same as an espresso, but Ristretto is weaker in taste. Take finely ground coffee beans and add half the amount of water as in an Espresso drink to prepare a more concentrated shot of coffee drink. Irish Crème Coffee- Preparation: It is a cocktail mixture of black coffee, sugar and whiskey, served with some whipped cream on top. Irish Crème Coffee is best served hot in an Irish coffee mug. Frappuccino- Preparation: Prepared by blending any coffee drink or espresso drink with ice, and is best served with whipped cream and flavoured syrup on top. Frappuccino is a favourite drink to order in a coffee house. Affogato- Preparation: Affogato is more of a dessert found in a café. Add a shot of espresso drink to a scoop of ice cream (preferably vanilla) to prepare a sweet caffeinated treat for you. This coffee dictionary could only cover a few of the thousand varieties of coffee served around the world.
