The AI Revolution: Michael Dell Makes Bold Prediction on AI & Indian Market

Once known as a famous buzzword, AI has gradually become an integral part of our lives.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping the future of technology while revolutionizing industries. The use of AI is becoming widespread. From personalized assistance to virtual meetings, the demand of AI has been growing around the world. Amidst this historic rise in technologies, the Dell Technologies founder, chairman and CEO Michael Dell predicted about the future of AI in an interview. In this article, we will discuss about the growing potential of AI sector and opportunities in Indian market.

Michael Dell on AI-driven Future:

The billionaire CEO said that “AI capabilities will become commonplace in PCs by 2025 as these AI computers will have the capability of accelerating AI workloads, including neural processing units (NPUs) supplied by Qualcomm and dedicated key for Microsoft's AI Copilot service.”

“AI is a generational opportunity for productivity, innovation and growth,” said Dell during the event.

Michael Dell on Indian Market:

“India has talent and is a great resource for Dell and many other companies, but there is a desire for sovereign AI,” said Michael Dell.

India's effort in AI Technology:

Over the years, India has pitched itself to lead in AI, with a vision of creating its own AI ecosystem. This initiative requires building the AI computer infrastructure completely from scratch, along with cultivating AI talent.

Meanwhile, the Union Cabinet recently approved a national-level India Artificial Intelligence mission with a budget of Rs 10,371.92 crore. The experts believe this will open the doors to build AI compute infrastructure in Indian ecosystem through public and private partnerships (PPP) model.

India have the global race to shape the future of AI technology which is already leading by UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE, France, and Germany,

Interest in AI has boomed since meteoric success of ChatGPT, a large-language model developed by OpenAI. Indian startups are now focusing on building their own AI models.

Global PC Market:

Globally, the PC market has witnessed a sharp decline in demand since 2022. Many experts blamed prolonged lockdown caused by Covid-19 pandemic. Thus companies are focusing on integrating AI in PCs. This might act as a potential market revitalizer. Thus Dell is set to launch a new line of personal computers integrating artificial intelligence to rejuvenate the business.

“Technology is perhaps the most important thing we've done in human history...it's the one advancement that will never stop advancing," T-Pain said during the press conference.

Advanced PCs in Future:

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang talked about collaborating with Dell: “I'm here to announce this Dell AI factory with NVIDIA going to market starting today. In order to do this, just think about what an AI factory is. It has CPUs and GPUs. It has networking switches.”

From now on, PCs will become AI PCs for effective function.

Meanwhile, the Dell Technologies turned 40 years old in May, 2024. Once started as a small computer company in Texas has now a global recognition.

“We are moving from computation towards cognition into the age of AI. It took years before we ran electricity through buildings, and an automated way for tasks was the purpose of building machines that plug into the wall. That’s kind of where we are right now with AI,” Dell said during press conference.
