Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor's Debut in 'The Archies': Delving into Bollywood's Other Next Generation Debuts

In a symphony of legacies and fresh beginnings, Bollywood's next generation, from Suhana Khan to Khushi Kapoor, embraces screens ablaze with their talent.

‘The Archies’ is a new Bollywood film about a cool music band inspired by Archie Comics. Produced by Tiger Baby Productions and directed by the talented Zoya Akhtar, this film took its Netflix bow on December 7th, unveiling a tale set amidst 1960s India. The film follows Archie and friends dealing with love, friendship, and a threat to their favourite park. The story gives a fresh twist to the classic tale, seen through an Indian community's eyes. ‘The Archies’ sparks the silver screen journey of Suhana Khan as Veronica, the daughter of Bollywood titan Shah Rukh Khan; Agastya Nanda, grandson of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, steps into Archie's shoes, while Khushi Kapoor, daughter of renowned actor Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, assumes the role of Betty. These scions of Bollywood royalty join a legacy of fresh faces, prompting a curious exploration of other next-generation actors making their grand entry into the cinematic realm.

Aryan Khan

Shah Rukh Khan's eldest son, Aryan Khan, is stepping away from the spotlight and venturing into the world behind the camera. He's making his debut in Bollywood as a writer and director for a web series. Excitedly shared on Instagram, he completed the script and will helm the series under Red Chillies Entertainment, his father's banner. Although filming is set for 2023, the release date remains a mystery.

Aryan, a graduate in Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Southern California with a focus on Cinematic Arts, Film, and Television production, has had a taste of the industry. He notably lent his voice to Hindi versions of Disney's ‘The Lion King’ (2019) and Pixar's ‘The Incredibles’ (2004) alongside his father before diving into this new creative endeavour.

Shanaya Kapoor

Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor and jewellery designer Maheep Kapoor, is set to shine in the spotlight courtesy of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. She joins the ranks of star kids entering the industry. Shanaya, cousin to Sonam and Arjun Kapoor, will make her debut in Shashank Khaitan's film ‘Bedhadak,’ sharing the screen with Gurfateh Pirzada and Lakshya Lalwani. Before her acting debut, Shanaya worked behind the scenes as an assistant director on her cousin Janhvi's film ‘Gunjan Saxena.’ She's also landed advertisements for brands such as Samsung, Ritu Kumar, and Naturali. Additionally, she made a cameo appearance on her mother's reality show, Netflix's ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.’

Pashmina Roshan

Pashmina Roshan, daughter of music director Rajesh Roshan and cousin of actor Hrithik Roshan, is gearing up for her debut in the romantic drama ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound.’ This film is a remake of the popular 2003 movie ‘Ishq Vishk,’ which marked Shahid Kapoor's entry into Bollywood. Reports suggest that Pashmina Roshan honed her skills at Barry John's acting school. At 27, she stands as one of the older newcomers in the industry. In 2018, she showcased her talent in Jeff Goldberg Studio's rendition of Oscar Wilde's play ‘The Importance of Being Earnest.’

Alizeh Agnihotri

Alizeh Agnihotri, daughter of actor-producer Atul Agnihotri and fashion designer Alvira Khan, stepped into the film industry with her debut in director Soumendra Padhi's recent release, 'Farrey.' Notably, Alizeh is also the niece of actor Salman Khan.

Ibrahim Ali Khan

It seems that Ibrahim Ali Khan might be gearing up to step into the Bollywood world, taking after his parents, actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Arora, and his sister, Sara Ali Khan. The young nawab is reportedly in talks for his debut, possibly in the Hindi remake of the 2022 Malayalam hit film 'Hridayam.'
