Dhirubhai Ambani: From selling ‘bhajiyas’ to working in gas stations, Ambani did several small jobs before becoming a billionaire. The son of a village school teacher from Gujarat used to live in a one-room chawl with his family during the early days of his career in Bombay now Mumbai. He started his company with a thousand dollars and made it to be one of the biggest money-generating firms in the country.

Steve Jobs:  The man behind Apple grew up in San Francisco in the care of his adoptive parents. A college dropout, he along with his friend Steve Wozniak founded Apple and started from his parents’ garage. After facing a lot of adversities, he made it into a multi-million dollar company with his path-breaking products like iPod, iMac, iPad etc. His estimated net worth was around $10.2 billion at the time of his demise.

Oprah Winfrey: She is responsible for smashing stereotypes and climbing her way forward towards success. Winfrey is the first Afro-American woman to be a billionaire in her own right. Her rough life made her flee from her home at 13. She studied and worked as a newsreader for radio and television before landing into a talk show with Richard Sher. She shot up to fame with ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ that made her a monumental celebrity of all times.

K Rowling:Most Harry Potter fans consider Rowling as an inseparable part of their growing up years. It is hard to imagine that the writer of the record-breaking novel fought hard to make her ends meet during her initial days of novel writing. Many publishers declined her book before being accepted for publication. She couldn’t believe her luck to find out the huge business that her novels did upon their release. Harry Potter series earned her around $7.7 billion from the books and movies by making her a billionaire.

These people show that there is no shortcut to hard work to achieve success, and it comes to those who refuse to give up.
