The 97th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2025. The grand event will be held at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The ceremony will commence at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST/ 6:30 AM IST with a star-studded red carpet event leading up to the main show.
The cinephiles who are eager to watch the event live, the Oscars 2025 will be broadcast on ABC in the United States. The ceremony will also be available for streaming on platforms like: Hulu + Live TV and the official Oscars website. Indian audiences can catch the event on networks Star Movies.
For the first time, Conan O'Brien will be hosting the Academy Awards. O'Brien, the late-night host turned podcaster and occasional movie star, said upon the announcement: "America demanded it and now it's happening: Taco Bell's new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme. In other news, I'm hosting the Oscars.”
The academy announced that Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Amy Poehler, June Squibb and Bowen Yang have been added to the presenting lineup for this year. They will join last year's acting winners like Emma Stone, Robert Downey Jr., Cillian Murphy, Da'Vine Joy Randolph - on the Oscar stage.
Jacques Audiard's "Emilia Pérez" is the top-nominated film of the year, with 13 nominations. Other nominees for the best picture are Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part 2, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked.
