B-stars are acing the art of recreating their on-screen personas in public events and how!

In method dressing, actors play the part of their on-screen characters by dressing similarly while making public appearances. The idea is to convey the mood, character, and persona of the fictional character being portrayed. Perhaps the earliest memory of method dressing is Geena Davis attending the 1992 premiere of A League of Their Own, an American sports comedy by Penny Marshall. recently, we had Margot Robbie walking as a living and breathing Barbie ahead of the release of Barbie. Closer to home, we have Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol flaunting Gadar 2 back in 2021.

While, globally, Zendaya and Law Roach have been crowned for nailing the method dressing concept in pop culture, we have quite a star-studded Bolly pallet dazzling us by dressing their characters.

The period film Bajirao Mastani portrays the story of Maratha Peshwa Bajirao dating back to the 18th century which had Ranveer Singh, who played Peshwa Bajirao, dressed in sherwani paired with a long skirt. In the events preceding and following the release of the film, Ranveer made countless appearances dazzling in that attire. This unflinching carrying of the Bajirao attire certainly was the talk of the town and how wonderfully Ranveer could execute the character even off-screen.

Gotta hand it to Sonam Kapoor when it comes to draping the perfect costume to embody a character. during the promotion of Khoobsurat, where Sonam played Milli, she effortlessly integrated the quirks and eccentricities of Milli into her style. The loud patterns and vivid colours of her skirt vibed seamlessly with Milli’s nature. For The Zoya Factor, the actor unabashedly wore red to every promotional event looking million dollars.

Kriti Sanon for Adipurush

We had Kriti Sanon wearing an off-white saree with zardozi border with 24-carat gold breathing life into her character of Janaki from Adipurush. In many events, her heavily embroidered shawl and elaborate pieces of Anarkali flowing with a cascading silhouette lent a regal and ethnic look to her entire attire. The ensemble alone elevated Adipurush to a royal and majestic pedestal.
