Chicory Coffee May Not Be What You Would Expect
Chicory coffee is one of the most popular coffee alternatives out there in the world. It is made by grinding, roasting and then by brewing the chicory plant roots. Chicory coffee does not contain caffeine in it and therefore, is considered a much healthier alternative to coffee. However, even though it is a coffee alternative, it does not taste anything close to what coffee tastes. In fact, some people have labelled its taste to be somewhat like muddy water. So, you might not be very fond if its taste. That being said, the health benefits of chicory coffee are fantastic since it contains inulin fiber, which helps in avoiding inflammation and in the regulation or of blood sugar.
Yerba Mate Gives You The Coffee Buzz But Is Healthy Too
People have been using yerba mate as a coffee alternative since the past decade or so. It is basically a kind of beverage made by brewing the leaves of a tree called Ilex paraguariensis. You definitely get a buzz from having yerba mate but it is much smoother and would not make you as jittery as coffee does.
