Fascinating facts about Peter Dinklage

Peter Dinklage has become an icon for his role in Games of Thrones. He has played a leading man with a mix of strength and vulnerability and a sense of sardonic humour. Born in 1969 in New Jersey, Peter’s first role was that of a leading role in the production, The Velveteen Rabbit. He was in the 5th grade then! He told People magazine that he got his first solo bow for his performance back then. Despite being tight on money, Peter never played stereotypical roles. He faced a short-term setback when he was living on the edge, surviving on salad in a New York apartment filled with rats and yet didn’t accept roles to play leprechauns and elves. His stubbornness ultimately paid off with a breaking role in Elf that defied cliches. Even when the role of Tyrion Lannister came, he was careful in choosing it!  Peter Dinklage is a forthright vegetarian. Since childhood, Peter has been a vegetarian, and he has not shy away from using this fact and his fame to speak about animal rights and other such conservational projects. He even told the Game of Thrones fans stop to adopting Huskies after the breed became popular due to the show and its adoption and abandonment rate skyrocketed. He was once part of a Punk-Funk-Rap band. The name of the band was Whizzy, and they performed CBGB. Incidentally, Peter met with an accident in one of the band’s shows while he was jumping on the stage and accidently got a hit in the temple. This gave him a notable scar on the side of his face. He once told Playboy magazine, ‘I was like Sid Vicious, just bleeding all over the stage’. He calls himself a Hermit. He confesses to being a private person, and when not working as an actor, he prefers a pretty quiet life. He is rarely seen photographed in and around Hollywood or such events, gatherings. Paparazzi have often clicked him walking his dog in the park or with his daughter spending time in the local park. An actor who is away from celebrity whims and true to his craft!  Peter is a big-time Batman fan. He claims to have a soft spot for Batman, who he thinks is pretty dark with no special powers. Although Peter didn’t get to read a lot of comics in childhood, he thinks the Batman Trilogy is the best superhero movie ever. A real big guy in the cinema world.
