India cricket HarleenDeol has turned the spotlight towards herself with exceptional batting and fielding in the ongoing Women’s Premier League 2023. While playing for Gujarat Titans, Deol shone at two points in the fielding - one with a bullseye direct hit from deep and another time with a sublime catch that dismissed Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
Put to bat first, MI made 162 runs with the help of a brilliant half century by captain Kaur. There was a major contribution from Yastika Bhatia (44) MatScirver-Brunt (36) in the innings. However, it wasn’t easy for MI women to make this total while playing against GT women.
Deol showed her brilliant fielding skills when she dismissed HumairaKazi in the 19th with a direct hit from the deep. The crowd in the stadium applauded for the effort of Deol.

Just a over later, Deol took a catch near the boundary to send back Kaur. MI skipper had hit two boundaries back-to-back when she tried to hit the third one for the same. However, this time, Deol was there to catch the ball.

However, Deol’s team couldn’t win the game as they fell short by 55 runs in chasing the big target. After the game, Kaur said, “Credit goes to all the support staff and team-mates. The way we have been playing, we want to continue. We are so positive and they always want to do well for the team. When we got this team, I was really happy, they were doing well for the country and now they will do the same for MI.”
