Waiting To Watch Kareena Kapoor In Crew? Ranking Her Best On Screen Performances From Jab We Met To Omkara

Kareena Kapoor has had a remarkable career, and she’s done some iconic roles to remember.

Kareena Kapoor is looking forward to her latest film Crew, and she feels her fans will love her in the new role in the film, since it stars ‘the Bebo they love’. In the film, the actress plays a sassy air hostess along with actors Tabu and Kriti Sanon. During a special zoom video call ahead of the film, Kareena had said, "It's a very fun light-hearted film to watch. I think after Laal Singh Chadda and Jaane Jaan, this is the film that all my fans will really really enjoy. The Bebo that they want to see, the Bebo they love."

The film has been co-produced by Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, who are collaborating yet again after their 2018 film Veere Di Wedding that had also featured Kareena, along with Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. Crew has hit the cinema halls today on March 29.

But before you watch Kareena in the film, let’s tell you that in a career spanning more than 20 years, the actress has done some memorable roles, balancing both glamour with gritty roles. Having made her debut with Abhishek Bachchan in JP Dutta’s 2000 romantic drama Refugee, she has gone from strength to strength, and managed to cement her reputation as a bonafide actor and star.

Here’s revisiting the best characters of the star extraordinaire ahead of Crew:

Geet, Jab We Met (2007)

Kareena Kapoor played a role of a lifetime with Geet that is now part of popular culture, much like Poo. Starring in Imtiaz Ali’s most successful film yet, Jab We Met, the actress shone like a bright star in the film, and Shahid Kapoor’s impeccable performance contributed significantly to making the film a hit.

Rupa, Laal Singh Chaddha (2022)

In Laal Singh Chaddha, Kapoor Khan made everyone fall in love with Rupa’s warmth and doom. In the official Hindi remake of Robert Zemeckis’s 1994 Hollywood classic Forrest Gump, Rupa played the one true love of Laal Singh Chaddha’s life, and with the way she tapped into the credibility and the darkness of her character, Kareena left everyone impressed.

Preet, Udta Punjab (2016)

Kareena played Dr Preet Sahani trying to clean up the drug menace in Punjab in the Abhishek Chaubey directorial. Despite an ensemble cast, the actress gave a knockout performance.

Dolly, Omkara (2006)

Kapoor Khan starred as Dolly in this brilliant adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello, titled Omkara. In Vishal Bhardwaj’s version of Desdemona, the actress was caught in a war of power and vendetta and managed to cast a spell despite the limited screen time amid the likes of Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, and Konkona Sen Sharma.

Rosie, Talaash: The Answer Lies Within (2012)

In the Reema Kagti directorial, Kareena played Rosie, a sex worker who helps a cop, played by Aamir Khan, solve a high-profile case. Since she’d already played the lead role in Chameli, she portrayed Rosie differently with dignity and vulnerability. It is one of her best performances till date.
