Scuderia Ferrari Eyes Hamilton's Signature on Dotted Lines for Next F1 Season

In 2024, Ferrari could line up Charles Leclerc with seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton.

Seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has been a part of the Mercedes-AMG F1 team since 2013. Formula One fans believe that this relationship will last until the end of Hamilton’s F1 career. However, a few reports on Monday claimed that Scuderia Ferrari is eyeing Lewis Hamilton at the end of 2023.

For the record, Hamilton will become a free agent at the end of this season. Verbally, there’s an agreement for a contract extension between him and Mercedes. However, the seven-time F1 champion is yet to sign on the dotted lines.

Hamilton fuels Ferrari move

Earlier this month, Hamilton spoke about his future in F1 by stating, "I'd be lying if I said I'd never thought about ending my career anywhere else. I started at McLaren, I'd like to think I'll always be a part of the McLaren family, I started there when I was 13 years old, so I thought about what it would look like if I was at McLaren one day. I thought about and watched the Ferrari drivers on the screens at the track, and of course you wonder what it would be like to be in red."

Is a move possible?

As of now, there are several possible moves that could happen in the world of Formula One next year. For example, it is possible that Hamilton could replace Sainz at Scuderia Ferrari and compete alongside Charles Leclerc.

On the other hand, it is also possible that Charles Leclerc could swap Hamilton for Mercedes. However, in our opinion, we do not see Hamilton moving to Ferrari given the reliability issues Ferrari has witnessed in recent times.

Time and again, the team has failed to create the ultimate machine required to pip its rival team, Red Bull, led by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

In the ongoing F1 championship, Hamilton is in fourth place in the pecking order with 56 points, whereas the two Ferrari drivers are also struggling to reach the top three.

Last but not least, given Aston Martin’s resurrection, Hamilton moving to Aston Martin could also become a reality.
