Besides being one of India's highest-paid actresses, Samantha is also a successful entrepreneur with several brands to her name.

"... but you should not be afraid to dream big. If you’re thinking of a little white house, change that dream. Dream of a mansion! Dream it all!” - Samantha Ruth Prabhu

There's absolutely no doubt that Samantha Ruth Prabhu is a force to be reckoned with in the film industry. And now it seems sky is the only limit for her. Well, after reigning supreme as a successful actress for over a decade, she is now venturing into the production business as well.

Yes, you read that right! On April 28, on the occasion of her 37th birthday, Samantha announced her upcoming project, 'Bangaram', which will also mark her debut as a producer. And she also unveiled a first-look poster of the film, in which she can be seen blood-red in color and wielding a gun with a fierce look.

"Not everything has to glitter to be golden. 'Bangaram' starting soon," wrote the actress on social media.

However, what's worth noting is that this is not Samantha's first entrepreneurial venture. She has long been an accomplished entrepreneur, spearheading several brands successfully. And she has invested in various brands over the years, contributing a lot to the country's start-up scene.

Saaki World

In September 2020, Samantha (along with Sushruthi Krishna) launched her women's clothing brand Saaki World. During the launch event, she revealed that her aim behind the brand was to make designer dresses accessible to everyone. Later, during an interview in 2022, she said that founding Saaki was one of the best decisions in her life.

In her words, "... we started off during the pandemic with a lot of speculation. Given the situation that prevailed at that time, we started Saaki with a leap of faith. And I am glad we took that leap and brought Saaki to where it is today. I found the ideal partner in Sushruthi and the alignment of our thoughts and ideas made me firmly believe that Saaki could be a marquee brand within the industry."

"I had always been passionate about fashion and therefore it was a perfect association for me. Thus, Saaki was born out of pure love. It’s not just a business but an exploration for me. We have been successful in creating a brand that offers daily wear ethnic styles which are globally influenced but at an affordable price. I am extremely optimistic about Saaki’s growth."

Sustainkart

Samantha invested in Sustainkart, a Hyderabad-based e-commerce marketplace for sustainable products, in 2022.

Speaking about the investment, the actress shared, "I believe that the choice of Indian consumers has been slowly gravitating towards more conscious and nature-friendly products. Many reputed consumer brands have been launching their sustainable range of products, more so after the pandemic. I am happy to back the idea of Shilpa Reddy and Kanthi Dutt in creating a community-like ecosystem for the conscious buyers with Sustainkart.”

"We are planning to develop several strategic celebrity partnerships for Sustainkart's House of Brands as well to attract capital investment to grow the private labels vertical. With Samantha aiding our purpose towards achieving sustainability goals, we will be able to position ourselves in global markets,” said Kanthi Dutt, CEO and founder of Sustainkart.

Nourish You

Last year, Samantha invested in the food startup, Nourish You. It was a part of the $2 million seed funding round for the startup in which several other investors had also participated, including Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, CEO of KIMS Hospitals Abhinay Bollineni, and Y. Janardhana Rao of Triumph Group.

Speaking about investing in the brand, the actress shared in an interview, "I was impressed by Nourish You story of bringing superfoods like Quinoa and Chia to India, growing them locally, and their product roadmap of millet-based clean-label vegan superfoods."
