Women's singles double Olympic medalist Sindhu defeated Aya Ohori of Japan in straight games, but men's singles sixth seed Prannoy overcame Shi Feng Li of China after a gruelling three-game match.
PV Sindhu cruises past Aya Ohori in Malaysia Masters round of 16
Taking the court first, world No. 13 Sindhu continued her dominance over Ohori, ranked 28th, defeating the Japanese player in the round of 16 in just 40 minutes.
Thus, Sindhu has a dominant 12-0 advantage in their meetings.
In the quarterfinals, Sindhu will compete against Yi Man Zhang of China.
