Penguin random house, the publishing titans have said that Prince Harry’s memoir is set to be published on January 10, and the book has been titled ‘Spare’. However, the book will miss the crucial Christmas timeline. The hardcover copy of the book has been priced at $36.

‘The heir and the ‘Spare’, is where the title of the book got its name. These are the nicknames given to Prince William, “the heir”, as he’s the next in line, and Prince Harry respectively, as reported by ‘Variety’.

About the Book

The announcement for the book which happened for the first time in July 2021 has caused huge discussion and stimulated interest in the citizens’ minds. According to the book blurb, which can be found on the back cover, Harry has touched on his experience with his mother, Price Diana's death, as well as love and grief.

The book blurb reads, “It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother's coffin as the world watched in sorrow -- and horror.

As Diana, Princess of Wales was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling -- and how their lives would play out from that point on. For Harry, this is that story at last.”

“With its raw, unflinching honesty, 'Spare' is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.”

The Royal Family’s Concern

The news of the confirmation of the publication date has worried the members of the British Royal family. They are concerned about what the Prince might write about his father, King Chares III, stepmother Camilla, brother Prince William and sister-in-law Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, among others.

When the book deal was announced back in July 2021, Prince Harry said in a statement as reported by Ney York Times, “I'm writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man, I have become. I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story -- the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned -- I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”

According to a ‘Variety’ report, Prince Harry worked with ghostwriter J.R. Moehringer for the book, who has also written tennis player Andre Agassi’s memoir.
