Comes from a big family

Did you know that SJP was one of eight children, but her father, Stephen, left the family when the actress was only one. Hence, her mother, Barbara, had to take care of all of them until she met Sarah's stepdad, Paul Forst.

Had her first big break at 13

After she and her family moved to New York, she got a part on two Broadway shows, ‘The Innocents’ and ‘Annie’, and then was moved to a lead role in ‘Annie’ the next year.

Initially turned down ‘Sex and the City’

‘SATC’ is not short of being a cult show, but did you know that after gaining success on Square Pegs, she was afraid of being pigeonholed on TV, and hence turned down ‘SATC’. It was also because of the subject matter of the show.

Met her husband on Broadway

Did you know SJP met her husband Matthew Broderick on broadway? Apparently, in 1991, when he was directing a play, it was at a theatre that was founded by Sarah's brothers, Pippin and Toby. They met and dated for several years before getting married in 1997. Their wedding took place at Angel Orensanz Synagogue on Manhattan's Lower East Side. The couple has three kids: a son, James; and twin girls, Marion and Tabitha.

Dated Robert Downey Jr. for seven years

SJP and RDJ were known to be one of the most loved couples of the '80s. After meeting when they were both 18 years old, they moved in together after only eight weeks of dating. But as time flew by, they ended up getting separated.
