On This Day - Kunal Khemu's Birthday: A List of Mainstream Bollywood Actors Who Started Off as Child Artists

The ‘Go Goa Gone’ actor turns 40 today.

Kunal Khemu is, quite unfortunately, one of the most underrated (or as he calls himself, "underutilized") actors in Bollywood. He is a complete entertainer who can fit into all genres of cinema, and how! He may not have given a massive hit (as a solo hero) yet, but the potential he has surely deserves to be explored more and more.

Khemu made his debut as a lead actor in the 2005 film 'Kalyug', directed by Mohit Suri. He then went ahead to showcase his acting prowess in films like 'Dhol', 'Golmaal 3', 'Go Goa Gone', 'Kalank', 'Lootcase', etc.

Kunal Khemu started off as a child artist

What many do not know is that Khemu started off as a child artist, and became very popular at that time.

In 1987, he made his debut as a child actor at the age of four, in the Doordarshan TV series 'Gul Gulshan Gulfaam'. It earned him lots of acclaim from across the nation.

He made his film debut in 1993 in Mahesh Bhatt's 'Sir'. Then, he went ahead to appear as a child artist in films like 'Raja Hindustani', 'Zakhm', 'Bhai', 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke', and 'Dushman'.

As many critics believed, he overshadowed superstar Aamir Khan in the 1996 film 'Raja Hindustani'.

Notably, Khemu quit acting temporarily at the age of 14, to focus entirely on his studies.

Here's a list of some other mainstream Bollywood actors who started off as child artists
