Aditya Chopra is the mysterious enigma of Bollywood! The person behind so many pathbreaking films, Chopra never appears on camera, rarely attends parties, and isn't on social media. The star filmmaker likes to keep a low profile and has rarely been captured by the paparazzi.

Hence, since the release of DDLJ in 1995, there has always been a certain mystery around Aditya Chopra. As actor Abhishek Bachchan jokingly said on the Netflix docu-series 'The Romantics': "He is such a famous recluse that for years people suspected that Adi simply doesn’t exist."

However, we must admit that Chopra is one of the most successful filmmakers of all time in India.

Aditya Chopra is the current chairman of Yash Raj Films. He is a celebrated director-producer, having gifted us several out-of-the-box films over the years. Precisely, he is now widely regarded as one of the most influential personalities in B-town.

It all started in 1989 when Chopra assisted his father Yash Chopra in the film 'Chandni'. He went ahead to work on Yash Ji's films like 'Lamhe', 'Darr', and 'Parampara'.

In 1995, Chopra made his directorial debut with 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge', and took the entire nation by storm! The film created history at the box office and went on to become one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema. Also, it won many awards including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

 

He directed 'Mohabbatein' in 2000, which was the highest-grossing Indian film of the year. Later, in 2008, he directed 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi', which received a leading 10 nominations at the 54th Filmfare Awards. He made 'Befikre' in 2008, which failed terribly at the box office.

However, Chopra has been more active as a producer. Under his banner YRF, he has produced numerous hit films over the years, such as 'Saathiya', 'Dhoom', 'Hum Tum', 'Bunty Aur Babli', 'Salaam Namaste', 'Dhoom 2', 'Chak De India', 'War', 'Pathaan', and more.
