An inventor from Minnesota, known for his unique vehicle designs, has revealed his latest creation: a motorcycle powered by beer.
Ky Michaelson, the inventor known for his unconventional creations like a rocket-powered toilet and a jet-powered coffee pot, has now introduced a beer-powered motorcycle. Developed in his Bloomington garage, the motorcycle features a 14-gallon keg equipped with a heating coil, replacing the traditional gas-powered engine.
By utilizing the heating coil, the beer within the motorcycle is raised to a temperature of 300 degrees. This heated beer subsequently transforms into super-heated steam, generating thrust in the nozzles and propelling the bike forward.
"The price of gas is getting up there. I don't drink. I'm not a drinker, so I can't think of anything better than to use it for fuel," Michaelson told KMSP-TV.
According to Michaelson's estimation, the motorcycle has the potential to achieve speeds of up to 150 mph. Expressing his enthusiasm, he mentioned his plans to conduct a test of the bike's capabilities at a drag strip in the near future.
Buddy, Michaelson's son, revealed that the motorcycle has the flexibility to be modified for operation using a wide range of beverages, accommodating various options beyond just beer.
"It could be any kind of liquid. It could be Red Bull. It could be Caribou Coffee. It could be anything. But beer. Why not," Buddy Michaelson said
Both the father and son expressed their plans to retire the motorcycle and give it a permanent residence within Michaelson's personal invention museum at his home.
Embracing electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid models can significantly lower fuel expenses while reducing carbon emissions. Additionally, investing in public transportation, promoting carpooling, and developing efficient infrastructure can help alleviate the impact of rising gas prices. As we navigate this challenge, it is crucial to prioritize sustainable solutions for a greener and more affordable future.
