In 2018, Jeff Bezos and former broadcast journalist Lauren Sanchez began a romantic relationship.

According to sources cited in a report by Page Six, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is said to be engaged to Lauren Sanchez, a former broadcast journalist, and his girlfriend.

According to a report from the Mirror, Jeff Bezos proposed to Lauren Sanchez on his luxurious superyacht, worth $500 million, which led to the news of their engagement.

The couple is presently in France, attending the renowned Cannes Film Festival and participating in its glamorous party scene.

Speculation about their impending marriage has been circulating for months, fuelled in part by rumours surrounding a prominent heart-shaped ring worn by Sanchez.

Bezos and Sanchez's high-profile relationship

In 2018, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, a former broadcast journalist, began their romantic relationship. On July 14, 2019, Bezos and Sanchez publicly acknowledged their connection by attending the Wimbledon Men's Singles Final together, occupying seats merely three rows behind Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.

Lauren's multifaceted career

Lauren Sanchez, a former entertainment reporter and news anchor, ventured into helicopter piloting and established Black Ops Aviation—an aerial photography company—following Jeff Bezos' divorce from his ex-wife MacKenzie Scott, with whom he had been married for 25 years and shared four children. Additionally, Sanchez actively contributes as the vice chair of the Bezos Earth Fund, an organisation initiated by Bezos himself.

MacKenzie Scott's philanthropic divorce settlement

According to Page Six, MacKenzie Scott received a substantial $38 billion in the divorce settlement, committing to donate half of it to charitable causes. With 25% ownership of the joint stock in Amazon, this settlement positioned her as the third wealthiest woman globally. However, Jeff Bezos retained voting control over her nearly 20 million shares in the company, which focuses on combating climate change and protecting the environment.

Sanchez's space ambitions

In November 2022, Sanchez expressed her aspiration to emulate the achievements of Blue Origin's founder by embarking on a journey to space.

Regarding the potential crew for the trip, she mentioned, "It'll be a great group of females."

Prior to her current relationship, Sanchez was married to Patrick Whitesell, with whom she has two children named Ella and Evan. Additionally, she has a 22-year-old son named Nikko from her previous marriage to former NFL player Tony Gonzalez, as reported by Page Six.
