Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to square off in match 32 of IPL 2024, hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. As the teams gear up for this showdown, GT is in sixth position on the points table, while the DC is currently ranked ninth. Neither team has secured consecutive victories yet, and their performances must be more consistent. However, Delhi's recent triumph over LSG showcased glimpses of their potential, signalling a step towards improvement. 

Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans displayed resilience in their last outing against the Rajasthan Royals, chasing down a formidable total with determination and clinching victory in the final.

First encounter with Delhi, 2022

In the inaugural season of the GT in IPL 2022, they clashed with the DC in a thrilling encounter at Pune. Batting first, the Gujarat Titans posted a competitive total of 171/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Opener Matthew Wade fell early, but Shubman Gill anchored the innings with a scintillating knock of 84 runs off just 46 deliveries. Gill'sGill's innings were complemented by contributions from Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya, and Rahul Tewatia, guiding the team to a challenging total.

Meanwhile, in response, the DC faltered in their chase, losing wickets at regular intervals. Rishabh Pant fought valiantly with a spirited knock of 43 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled to build substantial partnerships. Lockie Ferguson, the standout performer for the GT, wreaked havoc with figures of 4/28 in his quota of four overs. With his stellar all-round performance, Ferguson played a crucial role in securing a 14-run win for the GT.

Second encounter at Arun Jaitley Stadium, 2023

In the second encounter at the Delhi venue, GT again emerged victorious against DC by six wickets with 11 balls to spare. Sai Sudharsan's unbeaten 62 off 48 deliveries secured him the Player of the Match award as he anchored his team's successful chase of 163 runs. DC, led by David Warner, managed to post 162. 

Despite Warner's 37 and contributions from other batters like Sarfaraz Khan and Axar Patel, they couldn't capitalise on their start. GT bowlers, especially Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan, kept the pressure on Delhi and restricted Delhi's scoring. GT got off to a shaky start but recovered well, thanks to Sai Sudharsan's composed innings. Along with valuable contributions from Vijay Shankar's 29 runs and David Miller's 31 runs guided their team to victory.

Delhi'sDelhi's first win against Gujarat, 2023

During a nail-biting encounter at Ahmedabad, Delhi, they clinched their first victory against Gujarat with a slender margin of five runs. Batting first, the DC struggled to get going, losing wickets at regular intervals. Despite a fighting fifty from Aman Hakim Khan and contributions from Axar Patel and Ripal Patel, they could only muster 130/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Mohammed Shami'sShami's exceptional spell of bowling of 4/11, supported by Noor Ahmed and Mohit Sharma, kept Delhi in control.

Chasing a modest target, the GT top order faltered, with early breakthroughs from Khaleel Ahmed and Ishant Sharma putting pressure on them. However, Hardik Pandya's unbeaten 59 and valuable contributions from Abhinav Manohar and Rahul Tewatia kept them in the hunt. Despite a late charge, they fell short by five runs, finishing at 125/6.
