IPL 2026: RR’s Quest to Fightback vs. SRH’s Winning Streak

Although the Royals are in a more secure position, they have had a tough time against the Sunrisers Hyderabad

The evening of Saturday, i.e., April 25, will witness a clash between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). For the unversed souls, RR are presently in a much more secure position than SRH, sitting second on the table with 10 points from seven matches, whereas SRH are in fourth place with eight points. Halfway through the season, RR are sitting above SRH, but the Rajasthan-based outfit has had a tough time against Hyderabad since 2024.

Last victory

The Rajasthan Royals’ last victory against the Sunrisers Hyderabad was in 2023. The pink outfit posted a massive score of 203 runs, but SRH failed to chase the target. In fact, the orange outfit managed only 131 runs on the board as Yuzvendra Chahal ripped through their batting unit with four wickets and fewer than 20 runs in four overs. RR won the game by a massive 72-run margin.

2024

In 2024, SRH won both games against RR. In the first match, the team posted 175 runs for 9 wickets. RR had started well with the chase, but Impact Player Shahbaz Ahmed grabbed three wickets to turn the match in Hyderabad’s favour. RR could score only 139 runs in 20 overs.

In the second game, RR lost by a narrow margin of 1 run. SRH had posted 200 runs on the board, and RR had almost chased the target. Unfortunately, in the last ball when RR needed two runs, Bhuvneshwar Kumar got Rovman Powell out on an LBW and broke RR’s heart.

2025

2025 was no different for RR against SRH. In fact, RR bowlers simply could not control Ishan Kishan’s batting, who smashed 106 runs against RR and helped the team post a massive target of 286. Despite their best efforts, the RR batting line-up was unable to chase down the steep target within the 20 overs. SRH won the game by 44 balls.

2026

This season, on April 13, the Royals lost their first game against SRH by 57 runs. Once again, SRH posted more than 200 runs on the board, whereas RR could only score 159 runs during the chase, thanks to the failure of their batting line-up, including Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who went back to the dugout for a duck at the hands of Praful Hinge and Salil Arora.

SRH have already created a five-match winning streak against RR, and if they win three more consecutive matches, they will surpass MI’s record of eight consecutive wins against KKR.
