Since their IPL debut, the Gujarat Titans (GT) have enjoyed a positive string of performances against the Rajasthan Royals
The evening of Saturday will witness the clash between the Gujarat Titans and the Rajasthan Royals, with the Royals hovering at the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) table, whereas the Titans are yet to open their account. However, previous clashes between the sides make a strong case for GT. Here’s why:
Head-to-head
Shubman Gill is the heart of the Gujarat Titans, if he fails to make a really big score GT will also struggle to make it big.

Head-to-head, GT and RR have played eight matches against each other, out of which six games have been won by GT, whereas two have gone in RR’s favour. At Gujarat’s home ground, the team enjoys an edge, and therefore, out of the three matches played so far, two went in the Titans’ favour.
200+ in 2025
Last season, the two sides met twice, and both matches featured targets above 200. In Gujarat’s home game, the team posted a target of 217 runs, but the Royals faltered at 159 runs only, losing the game by a massive 58 runs.
In 2025 ipl 14 Years old vaibhav soorya vanshi 101 runs form 38 balls including 7 fours & 11 sixes.

However, in the other game of the season in Jaipur, the Gujarat Titans once again posted a total of above 200, i.e., 209 runs, but the Royals chased the total and won the game. This was the match that scripted history as a 14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 101 runs in 38 balls, becoming the youngest centurion in the T20 format across the world.
Top batters to watch
From the GT camp, the top batters to watch are Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler. Buttler holds the record for scoring the most runs against the Royals in a single match, whereas in the eight games between the two sides, Shubman Gill has scored 332 runs, the highest by a batter in the rivalry.

171 IPL games have been played.
The pitches have become absolute highways.
But one thing hasn't changed: Yashasvi Jaiswal still holds the crown for the fastest 50 in IPL history. 🥶👑 pic.twitter.com/9zN6Yc1Izv
On the other end, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi are the players to watch who can take the game away from GT if they get a decent start. However, unlike GT’s batting depth, Rajasthan may lack consistency in the middle order, which could put the Jaipur-based outfit in a tricky position, especially if their top order fails to perform and they cannot build a solid foundation for the innings.
Bowlers to watch
The GT’s bowling line-up in their last match had the likes of Md. Siraj, Kagiso Rabada, Rashid Khan and Prasidh Krishna, who are all credible wicket-takers. In fact, in the GT vs RR rivalry, Rashid Khan has the most wickets, standing at 10 in eight matches.

In Rajasthan, the responsibility lies on the shoulders of Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger, whereas Jadeja will also play a crucial role, not only with the ball but also with the bat, especially in high-pressure situations where his experience can make a significant difference.
Overall, we believe that the Gujarat Titans have a slight advantage over the Rajasthan Royals, and they are likely to improve their win/loss ratio, which will contribute to their position on the IPL table.
