IPL 2026: DC vs. LSG – Checkout Personal Milestones Players Are Targeting in the Opening Game

Several players from both sides are looking to hit personal milestones

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are the last two teams that have yet to open their 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The two teams are scheduled to clash on the evening of April 1, with LSG hoping to equal the head-to-head record, which stands at 4-3 in Delhi’s favour.

At this juncture, given the change in teams’ squads, it is difficult to judge which team will emerge victorious. However, we know for certain that the team game has opened the window to achieve personal milestones for several players.

Ahead of the match, let’s check out which players have the opportunity to tick off a milestone.

Abhishek Porel

In domestic T20s, Abhishek Porel has 1,482 runs in 57 matches at an average of 30.24 and a strike rate of 154.53. Porel needs only 18 runs to reach 1,500 domestic T20 runs. Porel played 13 games last season and scored 301 runs, so we expect him to achieve a mere target of 18 runs in the first game.

KL Rahul

KL Rahul left LSG on a bitter note, and therefore, every match against LSG feels like a personal battle for him. In the upcoming game, he has the opportunity to reach 700 domestic T20 fours if he scores only five boundaries in the game. A player of Rahul’s calibre should reach the target. As of now, in domestic T20, Rahul has played 239 games and hit 695 fours.

Karun Nair

From the Delhi Capitals’ camp, Karun Nair also has the chance to hit a personal milestone. As of now, he has 49 IPL sixes to his name, and if he hits one more, he will have 50 IPL sixes. Nair is also six runs away from 1,700 IPL runs.

Ayush Badoni

LSG’s Ayush Badoni is on the course to hit 1,000 IPL runs. At present, Badoni stands at 963 runs, so if he scores 37 runs against DC, he will have 1,000 IPL runs. Badoni is also 12 runs away from scoring 1,800 runs in domestic T20.

Aiden Markram

South African Aiden Markram, who also plays for LSG, is one short of hitting 500 fours in T20s.

Mitchell Marsh

Mitchell Marsh is also in contention to achieve a personal milestone, i.e., one more six, and he will have 300 sixes in T20s.

Nicholas Pooran

The last player who has an opportunity to achieve a personal milestone is Nicholas Pooran, standing only nine sixes away from 700 sixes in domestic T20 cricket. Not to forget, one more catch and he will have 250 catches in domestic T20s.
