Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden's ‘Citadel’ is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Almost a month after its release, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden's ‘Citadel’ has been the talk of the town. The actress too seems to be in the ‘Citadel’ mode, as she recently shared BTS stills and videos from the sets of the show.
Now, adding to the excitement, we hear that the show has been renewed for a second season. And guess what? Joe Russo is all set to direct the second season of the spy thriller.
For the unversed, the first season of ‘Citadel’ premiered on Amazon Prime Video on April 28. The show received mixed reviews, but it got good viewership on the OTT platform. In fact, the makers recently announced that all the episodes of Citadel will be available to Prime Video customers before finally revealing on May 25 that the show is back for its second season.
In fact, with Joe Russo helming all the episodes, executive producer David Weil will return as the showrunner. Not to miss, ‘Citadel’ not only became Prime Video's second most-watched original series outside the US but also the fourth most-watched show worldwide.
Amazon and MGM Studios head Jennifer Salke, too, termed ‘Citadel’ a 'global phenomenon', and said, "This show has drawn an outsize number of new international customers to Prime Video. Its massive worldwide debut audience is a testament to Joe and Anthony Russo's remarkable vision, the incredible talents of Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Lesley Manville, and Stanley Tucci, and the tireless work of the creative teams, cast, and crew. Given the overwhelming number of our customers who have embraced this show, we are not only thrilled to share the premiere episode of Citadel globally without membership, but also confirm that the series will return for a second season."
Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video is also busy wrapping up ‘Citadel India’, which stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles.
