Check out these 5 tips for first-time dog parents

Be a paw-parent – Not a pet owner, here’s how!

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole", you have seen this caption floating here and there. The downs of life hit so hard sometimes that we always wish to bring ourselves a four-legged friend. If you are going to become a dog parent for the very first time then 5 tips can help.

Think practically before doing it:

Before getting yourself a pooch of your preferable breed, do a little research about the breed. If it's a Rottweiler and your house has no yard then it's reasonable not to go for one. It's not necessarily always about the space but sometimes about diet and essentials too. Go for the basic study first.

Know your budget:

Always look after your expenses; if you are left with a few bucks after spending your salary on your requirements then don't go for a dog. A puppy is like a baby and has its requirements such as deworming, vaccines, beds, leash, and more. If you are prepared to maintain the balance then it can be possible to get your pooch a healthy happy life.

Manage your time:

Puppies and even adult dogs need a lot of time from their owners because their owners mean the whole world to them. Taking them for a walk, playing with them for a while. It all takes time to strengthen the bond and to provide comfort and love. If you live alone and have 8 hours of working schedule then you can go on with a fish tank rather than a pet.

Have backup support:

Stay in touch with a friend or relative who has dogs or has owned them before carefully. Select the best vet for your upcoming four-legged friends. Get contacts of daycare centers, in case you go on a vacation or go outside of the town they'll look after your pup in exchange for a certain amount of money. Know the expenses. Calculate it all and know how much you would be able to spend.

Get ready to commit:

It may not go as easy as you think or may not go as tough as you panic. If you want to go for breeds such as Labrador Retrievers or Golden Retrievers just know that there is going to be drool everywhere. You may wake up on a fine morning and discover all your shoes are half-eaten. Life will change, it's going to be mixed with eaten objects, drool, and unconditional love. Prepare yourself to accept all of it. Good Luck!
