Cannes 2023: Former Indian Spinner Anil Kumble Joins Bollywood Celebs at the Film Festival

Cannes 2023, this year, is not only attracting celebs from the Indian film industry but also famous cricketers and politicians.

The 76th Cannes Film Festival has finally kicked off on the French Riviera, and it is expected to feature a list of celebrities from various fields. But guess what? Apart from renowned faces from the Indian film industry, renowned cricketers and politicians are also gracing the much-awaited event with their presence.

Joining the list of attendees is none other than the former Indian spinner Anil Kumble, who shared a beautiful picture with his wife, Chetana Kumble, from the French Riviera too. In the picture, which was posted on his Instagram account, the couple looked stunning in their matching black outfits. While Anil opted for a black velvet suit,

Chetana looked stunning in a black saree.

For the unversed souls, the Indian delegation at Cannes is led by L. Murugan, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting. In fact, India is now the Country of Honour, a recognition it received last year.

Star filled Cannes

The 76th Cannes Film Festival, which is scheduled from May 16 to May 27, is expected to have a series of press conferences, photocalls, and premieres where global stars will come together to showcase their projects and give their support to the world of cinema.

The Cannes 2023 film festival opened with the premiere of the Louis XV period drama "Jeanne du Barry," starring Johnny Depp.

Apart from Kumble, Bollywood celebrities such as Sara Ali Khan and Esha Gupta graced the red carpet on the first day. Earlier, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mrunal Thakur, and Anurag Kashyap were snapped at the Mumbai airport on their way to Cannes.

Anurag's noir thriller "Kennedy," starring Rahul Bhat, is slated to have its world premiere at Cannes 2023 as part of the Midnight Screenings section.
