This is expected to make your shopping experience easier and better.
Amazon has rolled out a new AI-powered feature that creates and shows summaries of customer reviews on product pages. The quality is currently available for various products for a selected group of mobile shoppers in the United States but will soon be expanded in other countries.
The feature aims to help shoppers quickly read all the product feedback. It's part of the company's plan to develop generative AI applications to enhance customers' experiences.
As reports suggest, this feature provides a short paragraph of key product features and customer feedback. It also has pre-generated keywords that shoppers can click on for more details. It will let you choose a specific product attribute, like "ease of use" or "reliability", to see excerpts of reviews mentioning that factor.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said, "Inside Amazon, every one of our teams is working on building generative AI applications that reinvent and enhance their customers' experience."
Vaughn Schermerhorn, Amazon's director of community shopping, said in a statement, "The new AI-powered feature provides a short paragraph right on the product detail page that highlights the product features and customer sentiment frequently mentioned across written reviews to help customers determine at a glance whether a product is right for them."
The summaries "use only our trusted review corpus from verified purchases, ensuring that customers can easily understand the community's opinions at a glance," Schermerhorn added.
Amazon is a multinational technology company (based in the US) often called "one of the most influential economic and cultural forces in the world". The company focuses on e-commerce, online advertising, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence.
It is currently one of the most valuable brands in the world.
