AICTE Strengthens Partnership With Meta, Introduces 'Creators of Metaverse' Programme for Young Minds
The initiative rolled out through the AICTE Training and Learning Bureau (TLB), aims to play a crucial role in transforming India’s education landscape and fostering innovation among the youth, reads the official press release.
It’s becoming increasingly important for educators and academic institutions to get to grips with the various uses of the metaverse as student needs shift. Previously, All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has become the first accreditation body in the world to have its very own office space in the metaverse.
The initiative:
AII India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in support with Meta Platforms Inc., managed by 1M1B, started an initiative named 'Creators of Metaverse', a virtual workplace experience program to train the next generation of problem solvers, creators and solopreneurs to harness the power of AR and VR technology and bring innovative solutions to global challenges.
This three phase initiative is open to all Students and Educators of AICTE accredited higher educational institutions of India. The launch event took place at the AICTE headquarters in New Delhi.
The curriculum:
The program features a "10-day, 20-hour curriculum, including instructor-led sessions, group mentoring, and project-based assignments," as per the official notice. Students will get chance to work with industry-grade AR software tools and resources, building their portfolios and professional networks and providing them with a virtual workplace experience.
This initiative aims to provide approximately 100,000 college students and 20,000 faculty members with the essential knowledge and technical skills in Augmented Reality (AR) through the Meta Spark platform. The programme is completely free of charge.
