Myths and legends are parts of every culture in the world. Thailand is in the South-eastern region of Asia. It is an ultramodern cityscape, and on the other, they offer cultural diversity. It is one of the reasons that Thailand is among the most popular destinations among global tourists. Along with royal palaces, temples and ancient architectures, Thailand has many myths and tales that have survived since time immemorial. Let us have an outlook on the stories from ancient Thailand.  The story of Naresuan’s Battle. It is one of the battle stories from the books of ancient history. During the era of King Naresuan’s reign, Thailand won many legendary battles. The battle of Narusuan against the crown prince of Burma, MingyaSwa, is the most talked-about. According to the story, King Naresuan defeated his opponent in single combat, securing the victory of Thailand. Till today, Thai peoples share this story with immense pride.  The story is about the spirit of Mae Nak. The country has a lot of spooky stories for their people, and the tale of Mae Nak is one of them. According to the legends, Mae Nak was a pregnant woman who died during her childbirth. Before the villagers could inform her husband, she killed everybody. When the husband returned, he found his wife and child waiting for him but felt mysterious when his eyes fell on the bony arms. Later, he fled towards the temple. Legends believe that her spirit was exorcised into the waistband of a monk. It is now in possession of the Thai royal family.  The story behind the Sleeping Lady range. It is a form of a back-story behind the formation of Doi Nang Non-ranges. It involves the story of a princess who was engaged to a man that left her behind. She was alone and afraid, so she decided to go out and look around for him. After few days of walking, the princess collapsed to the ground and cried out loud after realising that he left her. Soon, her soul left her body. As per the believes, after her spirit left the body, it grew bigger and took the shape of the mountain ranges. The story of the Tiger King. The king of Thailand, Phra Chao Sua, was known for his passion for Muay Thai. His interest in Thailand’s national sport is extreme. He used to enter the ring in disguise and defeat the champions without revealing his true identity to the people.
