When Disney Gets Deep: 5 Animated Films That Speak to Adults

Whether it is magic tales, supernatural events, make-believe creatures or exotic fantasy worlds, Disney films have taught all of us to dream.

Disney has brought some of the most amazing childhood stories. Whether it is magic tales, supernatural events, make-believe creatures, or exotic fantasy worlds, Disney is the only brand that has taught us to dream. But more often than not Disney movies are categorized as children's movies which is not always true. Disney animated movies may be a visual treat for children but have deeper meanings to them which are difficult to process for children. Although it may be animated, some of these movies were made more for adults than kids. The heavy themes, strong emotions, and messages that these movies try to convey are more suitable for adults than kids. So next time if you want something meaningful, watch these five movies with your kids:

Lion King

Lion King is undoubtedly the most famous Disney movie of all. Although it is considered great entertainment for the kids, the subject that Lion King deals with is something the adult could relate to the most. The deep concepts like death or feeling isolated, it is very difficult for a child to comprehend and impossible to relate to. But an adult can enjoy it like anything.

Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast is another such story that looks fascinating when young, but we realize the real meaning of the film when we are adults. It beautifully portrays the true meaning of beauty. It does not matter what your appearance is, if you are a good person by heart, you are beautiful.

Inside Out

This fun movie is all about emotions. Where for children it is a movie about different funny creatures, Inside Out beautifully showcases contradictory emotions and touches every chord of adults. The film may not have given the most accurate representation of the mechanics of the brain, but it did a pretty good job of describing our emotional development.

Wall. E

Wall. E is more than a regular sci-fi movie, it has more romance and more emotions than many non-animated movies. The best part about this movie is, that there are very limited characters, and that too doesn't represent any human body. All in all a movie like Wall. E can be entertaining for kids, but adults can truly relate to it and feel the heavy emotions like hope, faith, and helplessness, which it tries to portray.

UP

UP is the rarest of the rare kind of movies with which both kids and adults are equally in love. While it treats the kids with an exciting storyline and a fantasy world, it also takes the adults through a sea of emotions. The movie is so good that it is bound to make all the adults cry and kids laugh. The perception of the movie changes when you see it as an adult.
