Lokesh Kanagaraj has finally revealed the title of Rajinikanth’s film ‘Thailavar 171’, and it is titled Coolie.
Each time Lokesh Kanagaraj collaborated with a South cinema superstar, it is expected to be a blockbuster hit, just like 'Leo' or 'Vikram'. Now Kanagaraj is all set to work with the OG superstar of Tamil cinema-Rajinikanth, who is known as Thalaivar by his fans. Ever since 'Thalaivar 171' was announced by Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth, fans have been keen to know more details of the film.
Finally, on April 22, Kanagaraj revealed the title of ‘Thailavar 171’, and ahead of it, fans were trending ‘Thalaivar 171’on social media platforms like X. Taking to his official Instagram handle, Lokesh unveiled the title poster of Rajinikanth with the caption, "We love you Thalaiva @rajinikanth❤️ #Coolie 💪." Check out the 'Coolie' title poster here:
Apart from the poster, the title teaser of 'Coolie' was also shared, and it offered a monochrome look of the action, music and Kanagaraj moves. The audience just cannot miss the hero introduction of Rajinikanth.
Adding to the excitement, it is being reported that Telugu megastar Nagarjuna has also been finalized to play a key role in Rajinikanth's 'Coolie'. While there is no official announcement yet, several Telugu publications have speculated the same.
Meanwhile, there are also rumours that Shruti Haasan would be seen in the role of Rajinikanth's daughter in the film. Veteran actor Shobana will also play a key role in 'Coolie', however, nothing has been confirmed yet. Not just that, reports of a top B-Town talent being part of 'Coolie' is also doing the rounds. As per India.com, Ranveer Singh might play an important role in the film and Shah Rukh Khan can also have a cameo role.
Even before the title announcement, there were Reddit users wondering about the possible name leak of the Lokesh Kanagarj directorial. Several fan pages suggested that the film was titled 'Raa Naa' while others suggested it is named 'Thangam'. Check out the first look here:
Well, several recent reports suggest that 'Thalaivar 171' or 'Coolie' is inspired from the Hollywood film 'The Purge', with several users on Reddit declaring how 'Coolie' is based on the happenings of a single day. However, 'Coolie' is certainly not a part of Kanagaraj's cinematic universe but fans have found a 'Moondru Mugum', 'Uzhaippali' connection in 'Thalaivar 171's first look.
