According to India's finance minister, it has also aided in the expansion and integration of micro, small, and medium-sized businesses.

On Thursday, she told the audience that after getting over their initial reservations, Indians, particularly those living in rural regions, adopted technology.

According to Sitharaman, the availability of power in India is inconsistent. However, between 2014 and 2019, the (NDA) government strived to provide electricity to every rural household as well as in villages.

The next phase, according to Sitharaman, is to provide optic fibre to every panchayat in the nation once this has been accomplished.

She stated that 80% of panchayats have connectivity via fibre optics today.Sitharaman told the limited group of students and faculty members that the government's open source network had aided small enterprises.

She also discussed how bank account aggregators had altered the dynamics of online banking and commerce, as well as how the open network for digital commerce (ONDC) had assisted in revolutionising trade and commerce.

According to the Finance Minister, a number of nations are now using digital payment interfaces like UPI. Even tax assessment and tax collection are being done online."These (UPI interfaces) are public goods and are affordable," Sitharaman said, while highlighting the technological transformation in India.

G-20 Meet

NirmalaSitharaman urged collective accountability on Thursday in order to stop the hazards from increasing.

According to Sitharaman, India will make an effort to promote discussions that acknowledge our interdependencies, our common wisdom, and our shared desire for a safe, peaceful, and prosperous world.

The finance minister made her remarks during the closing session of the G-20 finance ministers and central bank governors meeting, which was held here in conjunction with the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank

The world economy is currently facing a number of challenges, and it is our collective responsibility to stop the risks from escalating, the minister said.

The G-20's yearly rotating presidency will be led by India in 2019.

The finance minister stated that India saw holding the G20 Presidency as both an opportunity and a responsibility in her speech.

India's thinking is centred on restoring multilateralism's credibility, she told her G-20 counterparts.

Sitharaman asserted that the G20 finance ministers have consistently united in the face of the most trying circumstances on the planet, set aside their differences, and worked toward a shared objective of prosperity for our people.

She therefore advised the central bank governors and finance ministers to continue their collaboration with this spirit of unity.
