Doesn’t matter which part of the world we belong to, dessert is our universal favourite. We feel complete, having dessert after a proper meal. It can be anything, from chocolate, ice cream to the different types of sweets, finishing the meal with a sweet note is absolutely necessary. Custard dessert is one such option. Custard is a powder made up of milk, sugar and egg yolk, used in making dessert or as a topping of desserts. As milk is the prime ingredient, custard powder contains a good amount of protein which is good for health. So many sweets can be made using custard powder.
Summer means the season of mangoes. Mangoes add a rich flavour and taste to the custard. For this you need to boil a certain amount of milk in a pan, add sugar according to your preference and keep on stirring. In a small bowl take some milk which is at normal temperature, add two tablespoons of custard powder to it and mix well. Next step is to add the custard paste to the boiling milk and mix it well. It will be thicker within a few minutes, then, let it cool a bit, after that add mango paste and other fruits like apple, banana, grapes and dry fruits. Mix it well and refrigerate for two hours. Here is your cool mango custard ready to serve.
Different types of smooth and creamy mousses are one of the best options as dessert. Then why not custard mousse, as it’s very easy to prepare. All you need to do is take a large bowl, take an equal quantity of custard powder, cocoa powder, sugar and milk, mix it very well until no lump remains. Then cook it on the low flame until the consistency becomes thick, add a cup of cream to it and keep on stirring. After a few minutes take it off the flame and let it cool, then pour the liquid custard in small glasses or cups and refrigerate for two hours. As for decoration, spread some cocoa powder on top of it and enjoy the delicious sweet chocolate custard.
Cake is our all-time favourite, not only as a dessert but on every occasion. Adding the flavour of custard increases the taste to a different level. You just need to add half a cup of custard powder to the cake batter and bake it as you always do, then your favourite custard flavoured cake will be ready.
