SRK's 'Pathaan' Takes Bangladesh by Storm with Massive Pre-Bookings

Pathaan, a Bollywood movie directed by Siddharth Anand, has become the highest-grossing film in the history of Bollywood.

Shah Rukh Khan’s latest movie, Pathaan, continues to make waves as it becomes the first Indian film to release in Bangladesh since the country's independence in 1971. The Siddharth Anand-directed film, which is the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time, has achieved record-breaking pre-bookings in Bangladesh, with 41 cinema halls showing the movie, and 198 shows per day.

Bangladesh Film Censor Board grants permission for Indian movie release

The movie was granted permission to release in Bangladesh after being screened by the Bangladesh Film Censor Board. The government had previously lifted the ban on the import of films from the Indian subcontinent earlier this year but with specific conditions to protect the local movie industry.

Pathaan, produced by Yash Raj Films, has been generating a lot of buzz since its release in January, thanks to its action-packed sequences and Shah Rukh Khan's star power.

Nelson D'Souza, the Vice President of International Distribution at YRF, announced that the film would make history as the first Hindi film to be released in Bangladesh since 1971.

Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan crosses Rs. 1,000 crore mark globally

In addition to its historic release, Pathaan has also accomplished another remarkable feat, as it has completed 100 days in theaters, making it the fourth Indian film to achieve this milestone in the post-pandemic era, following RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, and Kantara. The film has already surpassed the Rs. 1,000 crore mark globally.

SRK’ Upcoming projects

In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, Pathaan starred Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana in important roles. Moving forward, Shah Rukh has a number of exciting projects on the horizon, including Jawan with Atlee, Dunki with Rajkumar Hirani, and Tiger Vs Pathaan.

The release date for action thriller film "Jawan," directed by Atlee, has been delayed. Originally scheduled for June 2nd, the film will now hit theaters on September 7th, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
