Today, on Ekta's 48th birthday, let's have a look at her journey in this article.

Ekta Kapoor's Journey in the Entertainment Industry

Ekta Kapoor founded Balaji Telefilms in 1994 and went on to produce several hit TV shows such as 'Hum Paanch', 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki', 'Kaahin Kissii Roz', and more.

After capturing the entire Hindi TV market, she started producing content in other languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Punjabi, Gujarati, and Bengali. Well, it was a "Midas Touch" for her every single time.

In 2001, she produced her first Bollywood film, 'Kyo Kii... Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta', starring Govinda and Sushmita Sen. It was followed by 'Kucch To Hai', 'Krishna Cottage', and 'Kyaa Kool Hai Hum'.

She never restricted herself to mainstream Bollywood and also ventured into out-of-the-box projects like 'Love Sex Aur Dhoka', 'The Dirty Picture', 'Lipstick Under My Burkha', etc.

Speaking about her success, Ekta said in an interview last year, "I feel I have to innovate, and when I do that, I feel there’s a new era and a whole new type of audience I open up to."

Ekta launched ALT Balaji in April 2017, and within just a few years, it became one of India's top OTT platforms. Speaking about the major differences between OTT and TV, she said, "OTT itself has so much experimentation because it has so much of specification as far as the audience identification goes and then the content gets into exactly to the target audience. Unlike TV which is more like one size fits all. So, they both come from a different mindset."

Well, let's just wait and see what more she has to offer along the way!
