NASA To Launch Its Own Streaming Service NASA+ Later This Year
NASA has won Emmy awards for its interactive live coverage and views in the past and this will be available through the new streaming service, along with a few new series yet to be announced.
The initiative:
NASA has planned to launch NASA+, a new ad-free, zero-cost streaming service. On Friday, NASA launched the beta version of its flagship and other websites. Very soon, NASA will also be updating its official mobile app and a new NASA+ streaming service.
The agency promises to promote content from across its different web services and add new features to its science-focused site.

Official Statement from NASA:
In an official statement, NASA said "the updated websites will feature a topic-driven experience with a common search engine. While the beta site is available to the public, it is still a work in progress and the space agency will continue to improve it over time."
The space agency also said that "it will launch NASA+, its new ad-free, no-cost, family-friendly streaming service later this year."
"The new experience across the websites and the mobile app will serve as a platform for information on different missions, research, climate data, and more," the statement added.
Statement from Jeff Seaton:
"Our vision is to inspire humanity through a unified, world-class NASA web experience," said Jeff Seaton, chief information officer at the agency’s headquarters in Washington. "NASA’s legacy footprint presents an opportunity to dramatically improve the user experience for the public we serve. Modernizing our main websites from a technology standpoint and streamlining how the public engages with our content online are critical first steps in making our agency’s information more accessible, discoverable, and secure.”
Words from Marc Etkind:
“We’re putting space on demand and at your fingertips with NASA’s new streaming platform,” said Marc Etkind, associate administrator, Office of Communications, NASA Headquarters. “Transforming our digital presence will help us better tell the stories of how NASA explores the unknown in air and space, inspires through discovery, and innovates for the benefit of humanity.”
Nicky Fox shares the updates on this venture:
“From exoplanet research to better understanding Earth’s climate and the influence of the Sun on our planet along with exploration of the solar system, our new science and flagship websites, as well as forthcoming NASA+ videos, showcases our discovery programs in an interdisciplinary and crosscutting way, ultimately building stronger connections with our visitors and viewers,” said Nicky Fox, associate administrator, Science Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters.
NASA+ will be available on most major platforms, and accessible through the NASA app, iOS and Android mobile devices, streaming services like Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, and more.
