Movies that are set in L.A

It’s always showtime in the City of Stars. Better part of L.A’s charm lies in the endless possibilities this city offers. Home to countless stardom, grappling with Tinseltown opportunities and any movie business almost always means visiting the City of Angels. From the groomed grass of Beverly hills to the gritty streets of the Central, from the sunny Santa Monica Pier to the dusty alleyway bars – L.A has treats for everyone. It’s only fair for movies to entertain the versatility of the city and bring it to the big screens. Out of the countless movies that have the power to transport you to the heart of tinseltown, some truly capture the essentiality of L.A. Mulholland Drive: David Lynch’s neo-noir movie goes beyond the storyline of a woman with amnesia after a car crash. Lynch takes a deep dive beyond the Santa Monica Mountains, beyond the glamour, and gives us an iconic portrayal of the city. Training Day: Denzel Washington and golden boy Ethan Hawke stars in this gritty tale of an LAPD officer and a narcotics officer and brings forth the gritty truth about the South Central and Westlake. Pulp Fiction: Quentin Tarantino’s star-studded cast includes Samuel “Say what again one more time” Johnson, Uma Thurman, John Travolta, Bruce Willis and a cameo from Tarantino himself. The movie explores the violent gang activities and interlinked stories aet in L.A. La La Land: La La Land is a scented handwritten letter to the city of Los Angeles. A musical saga that captures L.A in all its essence – from L.A prime spots, traffic, personal struggle to really make it in the City of Stars. There’s Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling dancing too. Clueless: The elite part of Beverly Hills and snarky remarks about the less-posh neighbourhoods makes u the entirety of the movie. The protagonist Cher is the sassy Hills teenage girl with a computerized closet – something very basic for any Hills girl. Sunset Boulevard: Papparazzi. Glamor. Glitz. Things that make half the part of the movie. The other half represents the temporary glamour of L.A and the permanence of dwindling fame. Enough said. Speed: A city as big as L.A is bound to face traffic. A runaway bus, riding through the congested traffic to stay alive. Doable? No. Not in a city like L.A. Another punch to the movie? Speed should never go below 50. Well, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock pull it off though.
