A Spanish actor, Javier Bardem, came from a family of actors and spent most of his childhood days on various film sets. As an effect of this, Bardem first appeared in front of the camera at the age of six. Eventually, the 58-year-old actor made a breakthrough as an adult actor at the age of 21 with a small role in the film The Ages of Lulu, appearing along with his mother, actress PilarBardem. Soon his talent was recognized in Hollywood, and in 1997, with director Álex de la Iglesia’sPerdita Durango, he essayed the role of a santería-practising bank robber. Since then, there has been no looking back for the actor.

Spanish name Los lunes al sol, this is a 2002 Spanish comedy-drama film by director Fernando León de Aranoa. The film stars Luis Tosar and José ÁngelEgido, besides Javier Bardem as one of the lead characters. The plot of the film brings to screen the mortifying effects of unemployment on a group of men who are left jobless after the shutting of the shipyards. The film traces their journey after the closure as they spend their days hanging out in the bar, accessing their next move. Bardem’s performance was highly praised in this film for his portrayal of Santa.
Spanish name Carne trémula, this is a 1997 Spanish erotic romantic drama thriller film starring Javier Bardem and Francesca Neri in the title character. The film is said to be loosely based on the eponymous 1986 book by British crime writer Ruth Rendell. Set in 1970 of Madrid, Javier Bardem as David is a cop who is sober, and he, along with his partner, report to a gunfire call. In the hustle at the scene, David is shot. Two years later, David is paralyzed from the waist below. The plot takes an uphill turn when David finds out how his now-wife is getting involved with the man who shot him.
