India is the only country that survived for thousands of years, and all of us have been hearing stories of Gods, Warriors, Demi-Gods known as Devas, Asuras, etc. Ancient Indian mythology is an integral part of our country and characters from our mythology are still revered. Epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata along with being religious texts have very interesting stories which teach us about the victory of good over evil. Here we have created a list of the most powerful characters in Indian mythology.
Bhisma was the son of King Shantanu of Kuru clan and Gangs, the personification of the river Ganga which is considered very sacred in the Hindu religion. He learned politics and philosophy from Guru Brahaspati, the guru of Devtas. He learned warfare from Lord Parshuram, who is one of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. He got the blessing of iccha mrityu from his father which means he can die only when he wants. In the war of Mahabharata, he fought from the Kauravas' side and was so fierce that Lord Krishna had to break his vow of not picking any arm during the war. He was undefeatable and the Pandavas had to use treachery to make him fall.
Dronacharya was the teacher of Pandavas and Kauravas. He was very skilled in the advanced military system. Dronacharya was the master of divine weapons as well. He also fought against the Pandavas with Kauravas in the battle of Kurukshetra. He was the Commander-in-Chief of Kauravas after the fall of Bhishma. He killed many warriors from the Pandavas' side including King Drupad, the father of Draupadi. Lord Krishna had to use treachery to kill Dronacharya as it was impossible to kill him in war.
Arjuna is the third in the Pandava Brothers and was a skilled archer. He was also the favorite student of Dronacharya and he never faced defeat in his lifetime. He alone defeated all the Kauravas army during the Virat war including Bhishma, Karna, and Dronacharya by using his divine weapons. Lord Krishna was his friend and his mentor during the Kurukshetra war. In the war of Kurukshetra, he made Bhisma fall and killed Karna, his arch-rival. Without him, the Pandavas couldn't win the war.
