Most five-fers at home in Tests

The list of bowlers with most 5-wicket hauls in test cricket includes four spinners, two of whom are Indian.

Muttiah Muralitharan (45) It should not be a surprise that Muttiah Muralitharan, the highest wicket taker in the history of test cricket with 800 scalps from 133 matches, has the most 5 wicket hauls at home as well. His 67 5-wicket hauls in test cricket are the most by any bowler and are expected to remain so for several years. Shane Warne, with 37 5-wicket hauls, is at the second place

Muralitharan has a brilliant average of 22.7 and a strike rate 55.0 in test cricket, a large part of which comes courtesy of his 45 5-wicket hauls in Sri Lanka.

Rangana Herath (26) Rangana Herath, who went on to become the leader of the pack of the Sri Lankan bowling attack after the retirement of Muralitharan, is Sri Lanka's second highest wicket taker in the history of test cricket with 433 wickets from 93 test matches at an average of 28.07 and an economy rate of 2.84. He has bagged a total of 34 5-wicket hauls in test cricket with 26 of those coming in the spinning conditions of Sri Lanka.

Anil Kumble (25)

The Indian bowler with the most 5-wicket hauls in test cricket is Anil Kumble who has 25 5-wicket hauls at home. Kumble is also the third highest wicket taker in the history of test cricket with 619 scalps from 132 matches at an average of 29.65 and an economy rate of 2.69. He picked up a total of 35 5-wicket hauls, only 10 of which came away from home.
