Sujoy Ghosh, who is known for helming thrillers like Kahaani and its second installment, short film Ahalya, Badla and Bob Biswas, is set to be back with his next project, Jaane Jaan. With the Netflix film, Kareena Kapoor Khan is making her OTT debut and the actress has promised that she would showcase her never seen before avatar which has romance as well as thrill.
Kareena is joining the bandwagon of stars who are making their OTT debuts along with starring in big-ticket big-screen movies. She has also grasped the allure of streaming platforms, which allow most actors to experiment and there’s no fear of the box office numbers. OTT platforms certainly give actors a way out to explore their creative talent because no subject is off limits for streaming.
2023 has seen several actors making their acting debuts, including the likes of Shahid Kapoor, Kajol and Aditya Roy Kapur. In the next few months leading to the beginning of 2024, there are several other stars who have debut OTT movies and shows lined up.

Kareena Kapoor Khan - Jaane Jaan
Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film is an adaptation of the Japanese novel, Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino. The film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan in the role of Maya D’Souza, along with Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Verma. Going by the trailer, Kareena plays a single mother trying to cover up the murder of her estranged husband. She is hiding a secret from her neighbour, played by Jaideep. Vijay, on the other hand, plays a police officer who is in Kalimpong to investigate a case. His prime suspect remains Mrs D'Souza herself, who makes sure her secrets remain hidden from these two men. Jaane Jaan will be released on the occasion of Kareena's 41st birthday on September 21.
Sidharth Malhotra and Shilpa Shetty Kundra - Indian Police Force
Sidharth Malhotra is all set to be part of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe with Indian Police Force. The web series would be released on Amazon Prime Video, somewhere around Diwali this year. Along with Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty Kundra is also making her streaming debut as a female cop. The show would also feature Vivek Oberoi in a key role.
Varun Dhawan - Citadel
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden starred in Citadel, which released earlier this year. Now the Indian spin-off of the same show is all set to feature Varun Dhawan, along with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. While it would be Samantha’s second OTT show after The Family Man, Varun Dhawan is making his OTT debut with Citadel India. In the show by Raj and DK, the two would play detective agents and it is set to release on Amazon Prime Video.
Ananya Panday - Call Me Bae
Ananya Panday will make her streaming debut with Call Me Bae, an Amazon Prime Video series that stars her as a spoiled brat who has to fend for herself after being disowned by her uber-rich family. While the release date for the show hasn’t been announced, the filming for it has been completed.
Sara Ali Khan - Ae Watan Mere Watan
Sara Ali Khan is all set to make her streaming debut with Ae Watan Mere Watan. The film is set in pre-independent India and stars Sara Ali Khan as a young girl who finds herself being involved as a key figure in the country’s freedom struggle. Backed by Karan Johar, the filming of the show has been wrapped up and it will release on Amazon Prime Video soon.
Vaani Kapoor - Mandala Murders
Vaani Kapoor, who continues with her allegiance with Yash Raj Films, will be making her OTT debut in a crime-thriller series produced by the same banner. Directed by Gopi Puthran, the show is titled Mandala Murders, and as per Vaani, she is all set to
