An old, little, and majestic hill station – Kalimpong lies in the Himalayan foothills of Darjeeling, West Bengal. The town is nestled amidst mountains, lush forests, as well as cascading lakes. How to Reach Kalimpong

There are several options to get to this hill station. The nearest airport is Bagdogra – which is connected to Kolkata, Delhi, and Guwahati. From there, you can take a taxi and reach the destination within a couple of hours. Otherwise, you can reach New Jalpaiguri via train and then take a bus/taxi to reach Kalimpong. Also, there are regular buses from the cities like Siliguri, Gangtok, Darjeeling, Kurseong, Kolkata, etc.

Best Time to Visit

As already mentioned, Kalimpong has a pleasant climate throughout the year. The best time to visit here is during summer (March-May) and also sometime between September and December. Also, you can visit during the major festivals like Losar, Diwali, Dussera, or Christmas. It’s advised to avoid the monsoon, as this region sees landslides quite often.
